Q: How long do the foundations last?
A: Each foundation is custom-made for each project. Typically we design our foundations with a 75 year life span. This length can be longer or shorter depending on the requirements of the project.
- -
Q: Can the foundation be removed?
A: Yes. The foundation can be removed and re-used in another location. It can also be recycled and sold for scrap.
- -
Q: In what soil type can the foundation be installed?
A: The foundations can be installed in any soil type including sand, rock or even marsh. Even corrosive soil is not an issue for our foundations (click here to see Dr. Howard Perko's article on corrosion). Should the foundation encounter a large boulder, it would have to be removed or the hole pre-drilled as you would a concrete caisson.
- -
Q: What is the cost of the foundation?
A: The actual cost of the foundation is very competitive with standard concrete foundations, however, the real cost savings is shown in reduced man hours and not having to wait for concrete to dry to install the above ground structure.
- -
Q: Are the foundations galvanized?
A: If required, hot dipped galvanized steel is used.
- -
Q: What equipment is needed for the installation?
A: Standard construction equipment is used along with an adapter plate that we supply.
- -
Q: Is installation limited by weather conditions?
A: No. The foundations can be installed in all climates in any weather conditions present.
